About

Welcome to my new website, The Spiral Paths (formally Inner Peace Reiki and Yoga). My name is Patti Andrasak. My Instagram and Facebook pages also have been updated with my new name. Over the years my paths have changed, expanded, and spiraled into more spiritual and healing modalities than Reiki and Yoga, and I wanted the name for this page to reflect that.  I also realized that the content I have been sharing has grown, too.  I still love and practice Reiki and Yoga but I have also been studying and practicing Shamanism, The Medicine Wheel, The Celtic Wheel of the Year,  Tarot, Kitchen and Green Witchery, and living a healthy lifestyle. All of which are healing and honor, Nature, Animals, and the Elements, which are all  important to me. Other interests I will be sharing are in gardening, herbs, cooking, Sacred Objects and Crafts which I have created from things I find in Nature, Astrology, and Folkloric Tales. Really everything Magickal!  I am hoping the new name will help grow our Magickal community with like-minded people, where we can  connect, share our knowledge and interests, creating new friendships from around in the world.

A little bit about me… I am a Usui Reiki Master/teacher/ practitioner, Animal Reiki teacher and practitioner, and Shamanic practitioner. I also am a Tarot consultant and artisan of wildcrafting. I live in Saratoga County, NY, with my husband, and lovable French Bulldogs, Teddy and Gus.

I have always been interested in a more holistic approach to health and wellness. I believe nature provides everything we need to heal ourselves. I also believe there are times when we do need extra help from modern medicine, but I personally always like to heal myself, more holistically, if possible, first.

I am also honored to be an Animal Reiki Teacher/ Practitioner, and use the “Let Animals Lead®” method for Animal Reiki. My teacher, Kathleen Prasad, and Leah D’Ambrosio formed Shelter Animal Reiki Association (SARA) in 2008, with the goal of educating the world about the healing benefits of Reiki for rescued animals and their caregivers. Shelter Animal Reiki Association practices and teaches the world’s first specialized, extensive and professional curriculum in Animal Reiki. Practitioners and teachers only use the ethical and effective Let Animals Lead® approach, created by Kathleen Prasad, the world’s renowned Animal Reiki expert.

“Combining the two, Energy Healing practices, of Shamanism and Reiki has opened so many more paths for me, to find inner-peace, health, and wellness of the mind, body and spirit, for myself and others. All can benefit from this…..Two-leggeds, four leggeds, Winged, and Finned.” Patti

Both Shamanism and Reiki are energy healing modalities. Reiki uses a Japanese technique of meditation, more about this in the next few articles below, while Shamanism uses many different approaches depending on the type of Shamanism you practice and its place of origin. I use, and am mostly familiar with a Celtic form of Shamanism as well as a Native American form of Shamanism, studying the Medicine Wheel. Both tap into what is known as ”universal-life-force energy. “ It’s the energy that animates all living things and is originally from “Source.” (God, Goddess, Universe). Shamanism is Nature based and follows the four seasons, directions, and elements.

What is Reiki and where does Reiki energy come from?

The practice of Reiki is a Japanese technique of meditation that causes a feeling of deep relaxation. When the body is in a fully relaxed state, all healing can take place. The word Reiki is composed from two Japanese words, Rei and Ki. Rei can be described as a higher intelligence that guides us and Ki is the non-physical energy that animates all living things.  Together, Reiki has been described as a "Spiritually guided life-force energy." It is not a religion. It is a form of healing using the energy around us.

Ki

We are all made from energy. Energy flows in all living things, and around all of us. When our energy or "Ki" is high, we feel strong, happy, and well. When it is low, we can feel weak, sad, out of balance, sick. Ki is all around us. We receive it from the air we breathe, from food, from the sun and moon, and from sleep. Everything on our planet is made from energy. People, animals, plants, and other living things, are all made up of energy.

Reiki Healing

Reiki is a form of non-physical energy made up of the life force energy around us. Reiki seems to have an intelligence of its own. Reiki will know the condition of the client and can only do good. It flows where it is needed from the practitioner's hands into the client to promote healing where needed. As Reiki flows through a sick or blocked area, it breaks it up and washes away any conscious or unconscious negative thoughts and/or feelings (energy), allowing a normal healthy flow of energy to resume. As this happens your body becomes properly "fed" with good energy or Ki and begins functioning in a balanced, healthy way.

Relax, Refresh, Rebalance

Everyone who receives a Reiki treatment has a different experience. However, most feel very relaxed, balanced, refreshed, and experience a feeling of "inner peace." Reiki energy can cause you to fall asleep because it so relaxing

The Reiki Experience

The practitioner is taught how to meditate with the intention of being open to healing and to share Reiki energy. By being able to “go-within,”and create a meditative state of mind for healing, we can connect with every living thing. A treatment can also include chants, mantras, and symbols all used to help the practitioner create a deeper focus. Everyone who receives a Reiki treatment has a different experience. However, most feel very relaxed, balanced, refreshed, an "inner peace."

Reiki energy can cause some to fall asleep because it feels so relaxing. Animals love it too! Reiki can only do good. It will never cause harm. You can never receive too much Reiki.
